Family photoshoots this autumn

Tina Stobbs • Oct 02, 2018

I’ve heard on the meteorological grapevine that this autumn’s colour is going to be awesome.

It’s all down to the hot summer we’ve had, apparently. Something science-y happens with the leaves and there are going to be amazing yellow, orange and red hues galore this year.

I love an autumn shoot. I love the crispness, the colours of the leaves, the cosiness of hats and scarfs, the pink cheeks and the red noses… it’s all just so gorgeous. That’s why I’ve decided to offer my family shoots this autumn – all set against a stunningly autumnal background in one of our beautiful local parks – who wouldn’t want photographs like that on their walls?

So, if you’d like to start an amazing family gallery, or if you just need to update your family photos (the kids are always doing that growing thing!), why not contact me to find out about my family photoshoot availability?

This year, the shoots will be taking place on Saturday 20th October as well as the weekend of 27th and 28th October so get in early to book your spot.

“But I hate having my photograph taken!”

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard people say that to me.

And I totally understand it. Not everyone feels comfortable having a camera pointed at them.

I also know that, unless Mum is happy with how she looks on a set of photographs, they’re not likely to make it on to the walls! That’s why I work so hard to ensure everyone’s comfortable and happy with the photographs I take so that they’ll take pride of place on those walls for years to come.

But as I’ve taken to doing recently, I’ve asked a couple of my customers to explain my techniques and how they felt during a photoshoot, so that you don’t have to take my word for it:

I absolutely hate having my picture taken, so there are hardly any pictures of me with the children. I’ve known Tina for a while and I love her pictures, so I decided to book a family shoot to finally get some pictures of us all together. I was very nervous, but Tina put me at ease immediately with her lovely relaxed and friendly approach. I really enjoyed the shoot (as did the rest of the family – especially the children) and even managed to forget there was a camera there. The pictures were amazing, and I was happy, for the first time, with how I looked in a photograph. I still hate having my photograph taken, but not when Tina is at the other end of the camera.”

We first met Tina when she came to do a photo shoot for our daughter Eva, who was five weeks old at the time. I was still finding my feet with a new baby, and the fact that Tina came to the house was brilliant for me – no stress of having to get the baby ready, get me ready and get all the equipment ready! Tina instantly took away any fears I had about the shoot (Eva had cradle cap, milk spots and I was in pjs!) and put us at ease – I felt like I had known her for years! The shoot was such an amazing experience and we were over the moon with the results. Tina is like the Baby Whisperer! The only problem we had was choosing which pictures we wanted! The experience went beyond the pictures though- Tina put me in touch with all kinds of baby groups and has been really helpful for me – she is such a star! My husband recently asked Tina to take some family photos for us too... not something I was too keen to do as I hate having pictures taken of myself! However, Tina made it all so easy- it was relaxed, good fun and the results were amazing again. Thanks to Tina we have some lovely photos to look back on and treasure.”

“I was apprehensive about doing a photo shoot as I had no experience of them at all. Tina puts you at ease with all her pre-shoot communication and info about the day. It was very relaxed on the actual shoot day – it was just like being out with friends. When she was taking the photos, Tina gave lots of tips about how to relax make the photos look and feel natural. And most importantly how to laugh during it... which got the best photo by far! In fact, these photos are the only one I own, that I like!”

I’m blushing again!

It makes me so happy to get an amazing result for people who are nervous about having their photos taken – and believe me, it’s way more common than you’d ever imagine.

Go on, don’t be shy. Give it a go – you won’t regret it.

Contact me on Facebook or via my website to have a chat about a family shoot and capture some precious family moments to be proud of.

Yours, in pictures,

Tina

Here we are, out the other side of the pandemic, and although labelled ‘non-essential’ unlike many others - I survived! I decided someone had too right? So, might aswell be me! And we are growing….expanding if you will.

It’s such a milestone when you look back at their newborn photos and how much they have developed in such a short time. Now they are smiling, moving, eating, and their personalities emerging with vigour. It’s a time to not just celebrate their very first birthday, but all so congratulate yourself on making it through teething, sleep regression, weaning, and those early tempers!
