Before and after? The results are in for Jan 2018
The Guild's very popular and exciting 'Image of the Month' competition involves members submitting images into the sections of choice. The entries are then assessed by a full Panel of highly experienced Judges who grade them in accordance with international judging criteria, and the higher scoring images are awarded a Bronze, Silver, Gold or even a Platinum Bar .Those which achieve a Bronze Bar or above can utilise relevant logos to recognise their achievement. The highest scoring images in each genre also have the distinction of becoming an 'Image of the Month' and will be displayed on the front of their website and the overall winner will receive a prize. Also, those who obtain a Gold Bar are also be published in the Creative Light magazine. An average of 1700 images are submitted each month.
This month I submitted only three images of which two achieved Bronze Bar awards with the Guild of Photographers. I though you might like a little before and after look!
Here in the before and after you can see some quite obvious changes to the lighting to ensure that Master H is the star of the show, and also you can see that there has been some repair work done to the chip in my lovely wooden root bowl on the right hand side. I have also adjusted the reds in Master H's feet.
Here in Miss V's image again I have adjusted the lighting to make sure she is the star of the show, esp her beautiful face, I have also created a blue around her to draw the eye immediately into her rather than be distracted by the fur. Ive also slightly adjusted the reds in her fingers and toes.
When preparing images for competition, the first edits will be around lighting and making sure the star of the show literally shines!! Roll on February!!
